I suppose that we develop some lifelong vices in high school; for me it was the need for a Porsche 914.

My buddy Chet had a (duct tape) silver 1976 2.0 in 1982, and I have fond memories of exploring the drift characteristics of the car on a crisp Fall day.

That experience began my love of the 914, and cemented my need to have one of my own.
Fast forward to the fall of 1989, when I purchased a Malaga Red 1975 1.8.

This 914 had Fuchs alloy wheels, the factory appearance group, and air conditioning. I installed a Sony CD player and an a/d/s/ stereo that included a custom fabricated dual 6.5" subwoofer enclosure between the seats. 360 watts of tri-amped audio in this car was simply breathtaking.

I spent many happy years driving this car, and even used it to leave my wedding reception. In the back of my mind I always wondered what it would be like to drive a 914 with more power...
